Job Scope: The Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for private and public projects, includingcommercial, industrial, and municipal projects based on their understanding of construction plans,specifications, and their knowledge of this industry. Provides continuous monitoring of open bids, RFP’sand estimates to inform management of either new business awards or lost opportunities. Job Duties: Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; settingpriorities.* Prepares construction budget by studying plans; specifications; identifying and estimating costs.* Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.* Obtains bids from vendors and sub contractors; identifies qualified sub contractors; negotiatesprices.* Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.
Job Requirements:• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.• Required: 5 to 7 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus onheavy construction.
