A Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, focusing on safety protocols, training, and accident prevention.
They also play a crucial role in promoting a safety-conscious culture and investigating accidents to prevent future occurrences.
Experience as a Safety Coordinator, Safety Technician, or in a similar safety-focused role paving, formwork, or public works.
A strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety protocols is also essential
Safety coordinator needs to be able to effectively communicate safety guidelines to employees, conduct training sessions, and address safety concerns promptly.
Experience in conducting safety audits, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions is also important.
First responders in the event of a safety issue or accident.
Conducting safety orientations and training for employees, ensuring they understand and adhere to safe work practices.
Identifying and mitigating potential hazards in the plant, including those related to machinery, equipment, and materials.
Implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Investigating accidents and near-misses, analyzing root causes, and developing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
Encouraging a positive safety culture where employees are empowered to report hazards and participate in safety initiatives.
Maintaining accurate records of safety training, inspections, and incident reports.
Developing and maintaining emergency response plans, ensuring employees are trained on how to respond to various emergencies.
Ensuring the plant complies with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA standards and state/local regulations.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
Shifts:
Monday to Friday - 8 AM-5 PM with occasional OT and Weekends as needed
