Join SAVARD Personnel Group - where your skills are valued! We are currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join a growing road construction team in Langley, BC. This position is ideal for individuals who are safety-focused, dependable, and experienced operating heavy equipment on road construction and civil infrastructure projects.The successful candidate will safely operate a variety of heavy equipment while supporting road construction activities and ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely. Responsibilities
Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, skid steers, and other construction equipment as required
Perform grading, excavation, earthmoving, road building, and site preparation
Support asphalt paving and road maintenance operations
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
Report equipment defects and maintenance requirements
Follow site plans, grade specifications, and supervisor instructions
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Work collaboratively with supervisors and crew members to complete projects on schedule
Adhere to all company safety policies and provincial regulations
Perform general labour duties when required
Qualifications
Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Asphalt paving experience is considered a strong asset
Previous road construction or heavy civil construction experience
Heavy Equipment Operator certification is considered an asset
Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment is preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to climb in and out of heavy equipment safely
Ability to sit for extended periods while operating machinery
Ability to perform physically demanding work when required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment
Schedule
Full-time hours
Monday to Friday (hours may vary based on project requirements)
Overtime and weekend work may be required during peak construction season
