Job Description

Part Time Workboat Captain $450 Daily

Key Requirements:
  • Must have minimum 2 years of experience as a boat captain
  • Must safely operate and maintain a Subchapter C 38-ton workboat on inland waters.
  • Hold a USCG Master 100 Ton – Inland Waters required 
  • TWIC or able to obtain 
  • Transport crew and materials to and from worksites on barges
  • Coordinate with deckhands and other crew members to ensure safe operations.
  • Operate boat electronics (AIS, electronic throttles) for navigation and positioning.
  • Potentially operate a NCCER TSS-certified crane (telescopic boom/fixed cab) after training.
  • Maintain vessel logs and ensure compliance with Subchapter C safety and inspection requirements.
  • Assist with launching and operation of additional vessels (towing/chartered) as needed.

Shifts:
  • 6/10's schedule with ocasional Sunday 
  • Daylight work only


Duration:
  • Temp to Hire 
  • Part-Time / On-Call: Starting immediately through March (flexible, fill-in work with a few weeks’ notice)
  • Full-Time: Starting April, Monday–Saturday (daytime only, 6/10s, occasional Sunday), 50–60 hours/week during construction projects
